Vintage Dressmaking (dress)

In this intensive workshop you will
learn how to make a simple 1960s style shift dress.
You will need to have basic sewing skills to enrol
in this class. Ideally, you will have completed
the sewing machine basics workshop or the Vintage
dressmaking - Part 1 workshop.
This class will teach you how to:
Use basic sewing tools
Lay and cut out fabric
Identify markings and trace these
from pattern to fabric
and finish seams
insert a concealed zip
sew a blind hem
attach a scalloped Peter Pan collar/bow
Things you will need:
Shears/fabric scissors, tape measure, thread,
seam ripper, box of pins and tailors chalk. You
will also need to bring with you 2 metres (60"
wide) of the fabric of your choice, one 22"
concealed zip, 50cm of iron-on interfacing and
5 1.5cm buttons if you want to make the dress
with the scalloped collar and buttons.
You may also purchase one of
our fabric packs if you are unable to obtain your
own fabric. The fabric pack consists of 2 metres
of fabric, concealed zip, thread and interfacing
and costs £15.00.

a cheque. Your place will not be confirmed
until the cheque has been received and payment

All fees are non-refundable
in the event that you are unable to attend.
You may however be transferred onto another course
or to the same course on a different date (subject
to places being available).
Classes are limited to 10 students
and at least 3 students are needed to make a class.
In the event of under-subscription, classes may
be cancelled or postponed. We will give
you as much notice as possible should this happen
and you will be able to transfer to another
course or a receive full refund. We will
not be held liable for any out-of-pocket expenses
incurred as a result.
