Understanding course levels

Level key:

Level 1 – no sewing experience necessary or in need of refreshering

Level 2 – having basic sewing experience (for example, being able to sew in a straight line)

Level 3 –Intermediate sewing skills (for example, have experience of sewing a basic dress or blouse)

Level 4 – Advanced sewing skills (for example, having experience of sewing a pair of trousers)

Level 5 – experienced achieving professional looking garments and achieving a perfect fit


Quilting for beginners


3 hour workshop



In this class we will show you techniques that will help you be successful through the machine-quilting process, from piecing quilt blocks, to layering, to machine-quilting, to choosing threads and finding inspiration for quilting designs.

To enrol on this course you must be able to use a sewing machine and be familiar with seam construction and have some practice in sewing in a straight line. If you do not have these skills, please complete the sewing machine basics workshop before applying for this course.

During this workshop you will learn the quilting techniques for creating:


        log cabin

        nine patch


Things you will need:  You will not need to bring anything to this workshop but you may bring your own sewing machine if you wish to learn on this.

All courses take place at Unit K103, The Biscuit Factory, Tower Bridge Business Complex, 100 Clements Road, London, SE16 4DG. The nearest tube station is Bermondsey on the Jubilee line.

Booking Terms:

All bookings must be paid for in full at time of booking. 

All fees are non-refundable in the event that you are unable to attend.  You may however be transferred onto another course or to the same course on a different date (subject to places being available). 

Classes are limited to 8 students and at least 3 students are needed to make a class.  In the event of under-subscription, classes may be cancelled or postponed.  We will give you as much notice as possible should this happen and you will be able to  transfer to another course or a receive full refund.  We will not be held liable for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result.
